What is Express Entry?

The Canadian immigration Express Entry program is a streamlined system designed to manage applications for permanent residency from skilled workers. Launched in 2015, it operates under three main economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Applicants create an online profile detailing their skills, work experience, education, language ability, and other factors. Points are awarded based on various criteria, including age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and adaptability factors such as having a job offer or provincial nomination.

Regular draws are held, inviting the highest-ranking candidates to apply for permanent residency. Successful candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and have 60 days to submit a complete application. Express Entry aims to process applications within six months or less.

The program provides a flexible and efficient pathway for skilled individuals to immigrate to Canada and contribute to the country’s economy and workforce. It prioritizes candidates who possess the skills and experience needed to succeed in Canada and integrate into the labor market effectively.
